To my future hubby, please refer to this post before you decide on which part of our dream house to design cause definitely I get first dibs in designing the kitchen :) Go ahead and get your creative juices flowing in designing our bedroom, living room, bathroom, entertainment room, etc. Hihi!

With kitchen designs, I'm not into the modern contemporary design one. I love a country style type of kitchen.

A country style kitchen with a touch of modern is also fine with me. I can't of course say no to life altering fridge and oven :)

And oh future hubby, if ever you won't see me beside you when you wake up, expect to see me sleeping at a couch I've been eyeing for years from Heima that I will buy and place inside my dream kitchen as soon as its done. Haha!

Love Ultimate 2012

One of my favorite provincial tournament is the Love Ultimate that happens (obviously!) every love month, February. 2 years ago this tournament made me decide I wanna play Ultimate Frisbee and yes, me and the disc were inseparable ever since.

Last year, the Love Ultimate was held in Cagayan De Oro and damn.. it was one for the books!! :)

This year, the team MAUT from Malaybalay hosted the Love Ultimate 2012 held in Malaybalay Provincial Grounds. It's my first time to go to Malaybalay to play, and I wasnt expecting it'd be that coldddddd! Not really winter-ish cold ha? Hehehe! Just cold enough that I can see air come out of everyone's mouth when they breathe and cold enough to make want a cup of hot choco (or beer?? hahaha!) every after game!! Yess, that cold!

Anyways, soooo Friday morning off I went to CDO with Tingting to meet up with her favorite boy, Vim who went White Water Rafting with the Roaches. When they were done, we then got a van and left for Malaybalay by 4PM and arrived in Malaybalay.. 10PM in the frickin eveningggg! The traffic on the way was crayyyyyzyyyyy! I no longer want to talk about how stressed we were on that trip.

So when we got there in Malaybalay I went straight to the Captain's meeting to settle something and... Surprise! Guess who I saw! Weeeeeeeeee!

Me and my team finished the first day of the tournament undefeated. We brought our A game to Malaybalay!! Woooooohoooooo!! Quarterfinals, Semifinals and.. Finals came!

It was between my team and Impulse United a team from Cebu, who I actually used to play with before. The game was intense!!! I almost peed on my shorts! One of our teammate actually got injured before the final point. The score was 14 all. And I'm almost teary eyed.. when whoosh! The team Impulse got the disc. Point!! I cried like a baby, I was a mess. I couldn't keep my composure no matter how hard I try to. Of course that was all because of the intense of the game. I'm still proud of my team for showing everyone a good game. Congratulations to Impulse for being the Pool B champions! :) It really was a nice game guys :)

Months before my 18th birthday, my mind was set that I will celebrate my 18th with just a simple gathering with family and friends and a visit to the church. I know that a themed "debut" party would require a lot of money and effort but it wasn't until my wedding/event planner friend convinced me that we can come up with a very unique and budget friendly party. Thank God for my parents for being supportive and for letting me have a great birthday party :)

I actually wanna make those dresses as my inspiration in losing weight. I'm crossing my fingers for this! Hahahaha! Asaness! And with the headdress, my friend made it for me and I actually still have it with me too!

Now, I'm already 20. Oh geez, TWENTY! 20! I no longer belong to the -teen group!!! Ahhhh! How fast time flies. I can still remember the feeling while planning for that party. Le sighhhhh. I guess I'll have to deal whatever's in store for me now that I belong to the 20's bracket. My golly! I wanna be young foreverrrr! Pwede? Hehe!

Yesterday, I started my day pretty late like 5PM late :) That's how I roll! Hehe. I went to an event for a cause.

After we lighted the lanterns we said a little prayer for the victims of Sendong. Let us still continue praying for the souls of the departed and for the survivors that they may be able to recover fast.

After the event we had dinner at Pasillo then watched a basketball game with friends. The game between Crystal Clear and Archangels was soooo close!! We (the girls) were soo noisy cheering for Crystal Clear, by noisy I mean super one! I think the other team were annoyed (I think hahaha!) already. Hahahaha! Too bad Crystal Clear lost. But we still love you boys! WOOHOO!!!!

Sooo after the game, we had an inuman session. The team lost but helloooo that wouldnt stop the team from celebrating ey? Hehe! Our night cap was Mr.Tanduay! Woooot! Don't ask me what happened next cause everythings a blur now. What a night cap hahaha!

Kitchen Adventure: Chicken Alfredo

Last night I decided to whip up Chicken Alfredo for the family for dinner, and I made it with cream cheese. Yummy!! Mi familia loved it :) It's my first attempt and, success! Yay!!!! I actually have this fear cooking with cream cause I think food get spoiled easily when cooked with cream. So I just made enough for us and for my sister's family so that there won't be leftover and I won't worry hehe! So whenever the 1st attempt is a success, next would be experiment experiment experiment!

Looking forward to my next kitchen adventure and I hope I have a photographer so I can document it ;)

Rooney underwent the transformation for her role as Lisbeth Salander in the upcoming movie "The GIrl with a Dragon Tattoo". The transformation required to do a lot of things and make a lot of changes like bleach her eyebrows, pierce her lip, nose, brow and nipple!! Gosh! The role was already hers years ago, but before, the studio wanted big names for the role like Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. Imagine?!! David Fincher must've found something great in her.

The transformation is just insane!! Kalowka ka girl!

I am hoping I get to see this on the big screen hehe! It's been a while since I last went to the movie house hehe!

I spent my first weekend of the year up north in Baler, a municipality in Aurora known for surfing and historical sites and boyyyy it was so fun, I miss Baler already. The place is so beautiful I cannot wait to go back :)

The If you wanna travel in comfort(and faster JoyBus: 5hrs If you bring a car: 6-8hrs) to Baler, check out Genesis special bus the Joybus. On our way to Baler I was asleep! That's how comfortable our 5hr ride was, and the seats? First class level!! Check out the other great things about JoyBus here

We arrived at Aliya Surf Camp 5AM and everyone was asleep. Had to knock at the office so hard so that we can go inside our room already. Thank God the FD lady woke up and accommodated us with a smudged makeup and a party dress hihi! Wild night last night teh?

After our power nap we headed out to check out the beach but we can't go since it was raining so we waited for it to stop.

When the rain decided to stop, our surfer friends started to get ready to surf. We were just watching them while we were eating our late lunch. Hehe!

The day after they surfed and as usual the loser that I am cause I dont know how to swim, I was just watching them from the beach chugging my beer. Beer all day!

After they surfed, we headed out to go to Caunayan Falls and see the thousand years old Balete Tree.

I am very amazed by these two girls we just met in the group, Stella and Princess, that they decided to stay for one night cause we asked them to. They arrived Saturday in the morning too and they said their trip was a very spontaneous one cause they just came from a party in Opus and after a few (or a lot maybe?? haha) glasses of Hennessy, they decided to go to Baler without anything. Thank God for Stella's car slash cabinet they have clothes to use haha!

Our last day was spent surfing and going around town. Yes, I surfed cause I just can't resist it :)

I cannot wait to go back to Baler :) Beautiful place!

1. 3rd Love Ultimate in Cagayan de Oro. The socials night is one for the books!

It's been a month since my last post. A lot has happened in that one month, let me start with my new love.. Yoga :) Yesss, I just finished my 2nd home yoga (mixed Ashtanga and Vinyasa) session. And I can't wait to start my 3rd session already, I am so loving it! But I still think I need to undergo a Yoga 101 class hihi, all the wrtiteups I read online and books I read in FullyBooked (Yes, I didn't bought it cause it's way off my budget haha!) I think is not enough, so give me a holla if you know a yoga teacher who have Yoga 101 class. Thanks in advance!

Ultimate Shindig 2011

In a frisbee player's calendar, August is Ultimate Shindig time, one of the best provincial tourney in the country held in Dumaguete City. It's the first time also that my team Ultimate Green Archers joined this tourney so I didn't wanna miss it.

My teammates together with the other Iligan teams went to Dumaguete on a Wednesday and I was so jealous cause I really wanted to go with them but can't cause I had to take advance exams to be able to join the tourney and not miss any exams. Friday came and I felt anxious the the whole morning while taking my exams (5 EXAMS with a 30min break only).. and yeah, mindfuck the whole time that I cried after I missed my flight :(((( Took some time to take a breather and thought of another way to go to Dumaguete since I cannot afford to get another plane ticket. So I decided to go to Cebu via TransAsia (very brave of me after all the TransAsia reports) and bus to Dumaguete. But.. another unfortunate event happened when I stepped out of a cab from Limketkai to CDO port, the cab took off with my newly withdrawn money and atm. Hayyyyy. Thank God I know some people on the boat en route to Cebu and solved my problem. Thank you Tita Rowena!

Anyhoo enough with that party of my trip. Haha! Move on.. ( I've learned my lesson already, i think?)

[SATURDAY]

Arrived in Dumaguete at exactly 10:30 and went straight to Perdices Coliseum but didn't saw my teammates. Went to Home Quest instead where my team is staying and freshened up so that we can go together to the Perdices to check on the game schedules for the day. Went to Perdices after we got ready and finally got to saw Xian :) She played for my team, isn't it coolio? I played for Weekend Karma (where I met her) and now she plays for UGA. I lavet! 4pm, we played against the team Dogcatch (not sure) and won! So yeyyyy! We were in for quarterfinals, quarterfinals means more games for me to play. Cause if we lost in that game, that would be my only game for Shindig. Hahaha! So after the games, I took some of my stuff from Home Quest and transferred to Bethel where I will be staying with Xian, Julia, Aaron and Nina. So sad that I don't have a picture with them :(

As soon as I arrived in our room, I took a shower and went out for dinner with Xian, Julia, Aaron and Julia's mum at Mamia's. Julia's tita owns Mamia's. Thanks for the free dinner tita and the chika galore. Hehe! Julia, you're mum is so sweet and maalaga :)

[SUNDAY]

Woke up 7am and decided to go out to eat breakfast somewhere. Me and Xian were supposed to eat at Neva's but unfortunately, they open at 9AM. So we asked the pedicab driver to take us somewhere we could eat breakfast and he brought us to Food Net. After we ate we passed by Noriter to just check out the place. I love that place!! And Sans Rival to buy pasalubong.. SILVANAS!!!

As soon as we reached our room, we prepared for the 3rd day of the tournament. We got in for quarterfinals and semifinals.. WOOHOO! Then CHAMPIONSHIP!! And guess who won against Luktonz? Huh? Huh? We won against Luktonz!! We were so happy with this very big achievement. The last time UGA came in as champions was 4 years ago during SK Tournament here in Iligan. I'm so proud of UGA! :)

After the game, we met up with some players from Manila at Mooon Cafe but then decided to take out the burritos we ordered.

To celebrate UGA's big achievement, me and Xian ordered pancakes. Room Service is <3 After we ate, Xian went out to get a massage while I opted to stay in bed and rest for the socials... and finish the very big burrito we ordered. Whooo!

Theme of the Sunday socials was Wet n Wild White party. Only knew about the theme when I arrived in Payag already so.. I was in gremlin mode the whole night. Just standing in one corner trying to avoid all the people with waterguns, pail, cups, pitcher and all sorts of things with water in it. I brought my camera that is why I cannot afford to get wet on that night. Even though I was in gremlin mode, I still had fun with all the other ultimate players. Love love disc community <3

Marina is back, with a vengeance. I tell you, this song is so.. deep! I even had to search the lyrics before I get the gist of the song. But after I read a full interview of her here, that's when I realized the message of her comeback as Electra Heart (FYI: Electra Heart is not Marina's alter ego). From Oh No! to Fear and Loathing, i'll always be a Marina fan. Sigh.. I just love how dark the song and video is.

Fear and Loathing is the first part of a three-part album track that conveys about the lies, illusion and death of an American dream. Friday morning and afternoon was spent listening to the setlist of the Incubus concert. Yes, a concert hangover. A very very bad one cause I still have it until now. Haha! Friday night came. Friday night in Manila is Fiamma Fresh Fridays night! But the party there always starts at 11pm so before the party, we didn't know where to go, so Tzaddi and I looked for some gigs online and we saw one. Pinoy Soul Movement at B-Side, The Collective in Makati with Hijo, Cosmic Love and Sinosikat. So as soon as Roden got home from work we then dressed up for the gig and the party.

When we arrived at B-Side, there were still few people so while waiting, we had dinner at the nearest resto (I forgot the name), the one beside Wingman. I didn't liked their Koren Beef :(

2 bottles of Vodka were the potion to our Friday mayhem. As usual I was forever the tanggera-refugee that night. Haha! It's been a month since I last drank so..blackout aketch! Hahaha! Thank God for awesome friends who took care of me the day after. Ughhhh had a very very bad hangover, this time a real one.

While I was on bed the whole night, they went out for another party for Grayson's birthday at Palladium. Sorry I missed it Graygogo! :( Had to take a rest cause I don't wanna be a zombie on a plane. Major hassle.

Sunday came. Time to go home. Woke up at 9am-ish to prepare and by 10am we bid goodbye to Roden (I miss you already dood!). Before going to the airport we passed by Robinson's Place Manila to buy some pasalubong..Krispy Kreme!!

As soon as everyone arrived in Manila, me and the gang met up at Roden's condo and dressed up for the best night of our lives, the Incubus concert!!! By 6PM we went to Vito Cruz Station, we had to take the LRT cause we knew the traffic'll be wild cause it's rush hour and it was also the night of the 2nd leg of the Azkals vs Kuwait game. The LRT-MRT trip seemed so long that as soon as we saw Araneta Coliseum, Tzaddi shouted inside the MRT like a fangirl. Hahaha!

As far as I can remember, I first heard Amy Winehouse when my brother told me about her as a new artist but that was after she released her first album Frank. The first ever song I heard from her was "Rehab" and after that, I got hooked. Her jazzy voice and sultry vibe got me into her. That was 2006 I think, me in highschool and listening to Amy Winehouse.

After I saw a special documentary about her life, that's when I got to know her much better. A self-destructive romantic, but that was after Blake Fielder-Civil asked for a divorce. A very talented girl that makes good music. A very great artist.

I have a confession to make. I listen to Amy Winehouse's songs when I feel sad (read: heartbroken) and she never fails to make me feel.. more sad! Heartbreaking, honest songs. But I like it that way. Makes me feel more relax. I'm gonna miss her. She is and will always be present on my playlist, on sad or happy days.

Hearing about her death made me tear up. I still couldn't grasp the fact that she is gone, she was one of my greatest influences. How I wish someone would come up and say that her death is a hoax. But no one came up. No one. Guess I should just accept the fact she she really is gone and move on.

And moving on is listening to her songs. I wanna share this original demo of her song "Love Is A Losing Game". This is just..sigh

You and your great music will always be remembered. I love you. Thanks you for accompanying me on my sleepless nights.

Last Tuesday was Reeka's sister's 26th birthday. Met up with Jehan and the twins Ponpon and Maimai so we could go together to the party. Glorioussssss fooooood. The cakes were delish!!

Fresh Faces BTS and Coffee Walk

In our school, July is the month we celebrate Lambigit. Lambigit is the bisaya term for Acquiantance. Part of this event is the search for Michaelite Fresh Faces of 2011. The college would choose freshmen students (a boy and a girl) to represent their college, who they think can make a contribution to their college and to the school.

Yesterday and today, I did the photo shoot with the candidates with the help of these people. Very very active people from my college, College of Hotel and Restaurant Management :)

Neil and Me. Neil and I have been schoolmates since 2nd grade! And we live in one subdivision too =p

After the photo shoot today, me and Carl together with our college's representative went to our school's newly opened coffee shop located inside our school hotel. It's name is Coffee Walk.

Work Friday and not so useless Saturday

Last Friday I went to the Pinning ceremony of the graduating class of Mindanao Sanitarium College to help my friend Elaine in documenting the event (Yay! Photo gig for me again). But I did most of the work at the 6PM-9PM event of the client which is the Hooding ceremony. My back hurt after an hour of standing :( I only got to sit down for like 5 minutes. But it's okay, I still love what I'm doing :)

After my 9AM photo gig, I went home to change for school. Went to school after for another OJT errands day. And by 4PM Auggie visited me at school to talk about "guy problems", after sharing her stories, we went to McDo to eat before we go to my 6PM photo gig, yes she went with me for her not to think much about her "guy problems"

I always wanted to wear and pull off anything sheer but now is not the time. I can't wear sheer at school. So i wore a spag strap tank under my sheer top that I thrifted a long time ago and paired it with a sheer black vest which is again, thrifted. This is what I wore on my useless slash party Saturday day.

I hate to say this but, ALARMS DON'T WORK WITH ME :( Saturday. Set my alarm at 5am,6am,7am,730am,8am,9am but still ended up waking up at 11-ish. If not for my Ella's morning rants, I wouldn't be up that late. I think what I really need is a mind-blowing alarm clock, one that slaps me maybe. Where to get?( I srsly wanna have one) Tss. Anyway, felt really useless the whole day(school is halfday on Saturdays). Didn't do anything productive besides eat cause I realized after lunch I have two parties to attend to. One for my friend's baby's 1st birthday party and second for my BFF Jian's post birthday slash thanksgiving party. Thanksgiving for their short film "Flutter Field" making it to the Indie Un-Film 2011 and won as Best Experimantal Award.

Went to Eashan's 1st birthday party after grocery and as soon as I entered the house, I was welcomed with bubbles and almost tripped off cause there were so many kids :)) Cute! I love kiddie parties! So colorful! But the sad part is when there's kiddie parties, there will always be, sweeeeeets! Lots of candies, chocolates, cupcakes, and ice scramble huhuhu. So the luoy me, was left watching everyone eat those yummy treats(I can't wait to eat those again!) but still happy cause the dinner served was so yummy, I ate 5 chicken drumsticks since I can't eat rice haha! I brought my cam but wasn't able to take pictures cause I was too busy eating and carrying Eashan's baby sister, Iya! Pretty girl :) She even fell asleep on my arms while I was carrying her hehe! I will post pictures of the party when my friend will post them.

After 2 hours, went straight to Jian's post birthday slash thanksgiving party. And I ate again. Ate and ate. Ahhhhhh I kept on going back to the table. Everything is so lami!

If we wanna do a test shot, our cameras would always point at Auggie. I dont know why.

Instead of drinking, I played "Todaytodaytoday, lets namenamename game" with Kim and Auggie. And... sang the night away, videoke! (We still ate in between the playing and singing. ugh)

That's it. What I did for Saturday is just eat. But was happy to find out I lost a few pounds (checked earlier)

So, lets eat again? Haha!

Anyway, tomorrow is another busyyyy day. I will sleep now so that I can wake up early tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers everything's a-ok with my OJT already. Good luck to me! And to all of you guys, in whatever you're dealing with right now :)

Woke up early today but got out of bed 2 hours after haha! I reward myself more time on with my bed when I wake up early. Useless right? I don't care. Haha!

Wore something casual, and probably what I would always like to wear for a busy day. I'm loving my new rings that I bought from SM Dept. Store. They pair with almost everything. The block ring is currently my favorite one.

After I got ready, I went to my sister's office for lunch and for this..

After eating my lunch, asked Kuya Joel again to drive for me. Went to Brgy.Tubod, Police Station and school. Unfortunately, when I went to NBI Office to get my NBI clearance they were close already :( But that's okay, at least I got something to crash out in my to do list.

On my way to school, I bumped into my frisbee friends and decided to spend some time with them while I figure out what to do next with my requirements.

Then I realized I need a manicure and a pedicure, so I went to my suki at Tecson's Dermhaus for my manicure. No pedicure cause I was wearing close shoes. Chose the gray color for my nail cause i'm kinda loving any shades of gray lately. What shade of gray do you like? Me I like Cement Gray.

After my manicure sesh, I went to the mall to eat dinner with my family at Mandarin. I ordered Soy Chicken. I lalove their Soy Chicken, it's so good that I ordered two platters of it. Hihi! Busawan much :D

Mikaela was sitting next to me and when she's beside me, I always see to it that she gets to eat everything on her plate. So I again expected a lot of whining from her. But when it comes to kids, I always make everything fun for them. I love kids! So for her to finish her meal fast, I ordered the Tropical Fruit Salad and have it placed in front of her while eating and expected, she doesn't wanna have another spoon of her meal. I told her, "If you finish your meal, you'll get to eat this yummy Tropical Fruit Salad." And the very challenged Mikaela, ate her meal without whining and enjoyed her salad.

Hey Wednesday

Started my Wednesday pretty late. Woke up 10-ish and noticed that there was no electricity which forced me to get out of my bed. Who would want to lie in bed with 10am, all sweaty right?

So as soon as I got out of bed, I started to get ready for my OJT errands. And fortunately, my dad's driver, Kuya Joel, wasn't that busy so I asked him to drive for me. So I waited for him at school with Carl. 10mins after, Kuya Joel arrived then me and Carl went to Micron Diagnostic Clinic to pick up our Medical Examination results then passed it to the people in the City Health's Office.

The employees in the City Health's Office are so courteous and I loved it. But the building, my god. I hope that building will be renovated soon :(

And so after doing some of my OJT errands, I picked up Charm and Auggie at the mall and we all went to Tisha's for some catching up.

I missed my girlssss! I miss hanging out with them. Catching up was spent watching the latest episode of Glee, giggling over Blaine and Kurt's kissing scene haha! and talking about our favorite topic, zodiac signs! Yes, we love talking about that topic :)

My weekend without pictures

I'm supposed to share to you through pictures how awesome my weekend was. But my memory card just died on me earlier. I have no choice but to reformat it :(

My weekend (Sat) started with my Culinary Arts 1 exam. We made Corn Chowder, Honey Glazed Chicken Wings with Dirty Rice, Potato Mozzarella and Ultimate Banana Split and feasted on whatever was left. The chowder and dirty rice was yummy! And after my exam went home to change for my Lola's Despedida party at the beach!

Anyhoo, after eating lunch at the beach I played frisbee with my cousins and tried skimboarding for the first time! Yes, I went skimming with my tito's friends. Fell on my butt a lot of times hehe!

These were most of the stunts I saw them doing. I can't wait to go skimming again!

By Sunday, spent the whole day at home sleeping and procrastinating. Heehee! And went to church by 6PM. After church, Papa brought me and Ella to Sunburst for dinner. We didn't realized it was Graduation month (read: lots of table reservations) until we arrived at Sunburst and graduates were arriving with togas on. Thank god there were still tables left for walk-in customers.

After dinner, Papa dropped me off at Calda's for my friend Pam's grad party. Pizza and beer overload. No beer for me though. I also met up with other friends for some drinks. After a few drinks, another Fanfan drunken moment! Hahaha!

Lent is the time Christians celebrate the 40days Jesus spent in the desert. And after refusing each temptation, Jesus became more nourished and more devoted to God.

Lent started last Wednesday (Ash Wednesday) March 9, and right after the mass that I attended in school I thought on the things/activities I will sacrifice for Lent.

I haven't decided on what to give up for Lent until now. I really did a lot of thinking for this :) So I am giving up Facebook, rice, my earphones, and sweets.

Already started with Facebook last Thursday. Deactivated my account and deleted the Facebook app on my iPhone. What's funny is I am using my sister's account to greet people (who I don't have digits) on their birthday. They're probably feeling weird getting a message from their friend's little sister hehe!

Rice. Uhoh. I'm a hugee rice eater. e. I am crossing my fingers for this and hope that I will be able to get through this, alive.

Earphones. Uhoh#2. If you are my friend and you are to draw a picture of me you won't miss putting an earphones on my ears. I always bring my earphones everywhere I go, listen to music if I am bored, or even if i'm not bored. Never a day I don't listen to music through my earphones until now.

Sweets. I think a lot of people are giving up sweets. And I think I want to give it up too.

Last March 5, 2011 I went to my former (college) school to watch the annual concert of MSU-IIT's school band, ECHOES. Arrived there just in time for me to pick a very good spot. The ground area is filled with the performer's family and friends. My relatives were there too since some performers are my Uncles, Aunts, and cousins. ECHOES got new members that are so good.

Oh how I miss performing on stage. Sigh

Finallly had time to make a post. Been busy running around complying my requirements for my OJT this summer (Still not done with it actually. Sigh)

Anyway, let's do a recap with what I did last week..

02222011 Tuesday

Classes postponed. Yay :)

First day of Fiesta Kulinarya. Was supposed to join the Photo contest but went to school bringing a camera without a memory card--normal. Nobody was shocked. It always happens to me :(

Flairing. If only I know how to flair without dropping any bottles Iwould've joined. I still need practice hehe!

Carving. The fruits looks so pretty, really. My phone's camera didn't gave justice to it. Boo

Flower Arrangement. Everything had Callalily. Not a fan of them.

2nd and last day of Fiesta Kulinarya. Wasn't able to watch the events cause I had to attend a Food Handling Seminar at the Conference room. The people from the City Health's Office discussed on how to prepare foods properly and about Hepatitis-B. I feel so sad for the people who are Hepa-B carriers :(
After the seminar, I was busy preparing for the awarding of winners.
02242011 Thursday
Yellow day! To commemorate People Power, the school asked the students to wear something yellow to school this day. And well to those who don't have anything yellow, were asked to put a yellow ribbon.
Busy day at school. Ran around the campus in between my classes. Helped out with the Hepa-B vaccination. Thank God I got to wear my black flats inside the campus.
Got home 6pm-ish and changed. Went straight to my lola's house for my great grand lola's tibao. In times like these, I always wish I know how speak the Maranao dialect. Tss.

RMR Run for the Heart 2011, CDO

I really thought the race was postponed as soon as I saw that it was raining but when I called the organizer, she just said "Rain or shine ang marathon, maam" So I just went straight to Divisoria where the marathon will start, thank god the hotel where I'm staying is just 2 blocks away from Divisoria.

Finished 5k in 39min and while I was trying to catch my breath after I ran, 5 minutes after a girl finished her 10k (she is fast!) The couples who ran for 5k and 10k look so cute approaching the finish line. Holding hands. Heehee got kilig really, while I was watching them finish the race :)

A Real Life Superwoman*

“Behind every man’s success is a woman.” This is one cliché so famous and so true. “Behind a man’s failure is a woman.” Well…

These are but two of so many sayings on women’s power, or what is in this age known as “GIRL POWER!” Whether it be mentally, intellectually, and even physically, what a man can do, a woman can do. And even better!

There is one woman who exemplified such power. At a time when not many people knew and understood that women could think for themselves, and at a society, such as hers, where women were just confined in the home to do domestic chores while men did all the important things, decision-making, and talking.

To people from different or other races, this woman is probably unknown. But, to her people, she is one unforgettable lady. Nothing much has been written about her but she absolutely deserves to be written about or at least featured.

She lived in a time when western education was frowned upon, especially by her people. They thought that if their children went to school, the poor young souls were bound to forget their roots and faith. She lived in such a society that was so conservative. During her childhood, a boy was lucky to go to school. And as for girls, well that’s another story. A girl in her community would not even be allowed to touch the schoolhouse with a ten-foot pole. But she was just different from others. Young as she was, her being extraordinarily strong-willed was quite evident.

Despite the older people’s warnings, she really wanted to go to school and learn the wonders of the sciences, languages, numbers, history, and others. She wanted to explore the wonderful world of literature. Her determination in her quest for knowledge made her sneak out of the house and go with her mentor who, by that time, saw great potential in the young girl. This started her education.

Being always one of the top students of her class made her want to strive all the more. And yes, she did strive more and in no time finished high school. Seeing that nothing could stop their headstrong daughter from getting the education she wanted, her parents allowed her to go to Manila for college. By then, younger girls were beginning to be allowed by their parents to enter school.

She went to the Philippine Normal College (now the Philippine Normal University) and took up Bachelor of Education. Again proving her merits, she would always end up winning awards and prizes that ranged from being one of the top students to being the “girl with the tidiest bed” in the dormitory. Not surprisingly, she finished her degree and went home triumphantly. Thus, she became the very first female among her people to ever complete or finish college and obtain a degree.

Many of her people then were convinced that it was, after all, all right to send their children to school, even girls for that matter. It was all right to be educated the western way, thus, producing many a great and powerful women in later years.

This woman started it all. At a time when only male children were given the opportunity to do things such as go to school among others, she went out of her way to make a difference. She showed her people that a woman could make it and even do well.

In a society made up mostly of close-minded people and dominated by men, this extraordinary woman showed courage, strength and made plain the woman’s determination. She showed what “GIRL POWER” really was!

She brought her education home and shared it with her people. She became a well-loved teacher, a respected superintendent. She led a great and very active life. With all her children educated, successful and happy, she now enjoys a retired life at 87 years old. This woman I am so proud to call “Ina” or grandmother. The woman I am so proud to be named after. Ditma Onayan – Macarambon, that’s her name. The pioneer and the pride of Maranao women. Our very own Superwoman!

China suspends execution of 3 Filipinos

MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) - The Chinese government on Friday ordered a stay of execution for the three Filipinos convicted of drug trafficking.

This came after Philippine Vice President Jejomar Binay went to Beijing and held talks with Chinese officials to seek leniency for the three convicts.

Ramon "Monchito" Credo, Sally Ordinario-Villanueva, and Elizabeth Batain have been convicted of drug trafficking in China.

In a joint statement, the Philippines "expressed its sincere appreciation to China for the decision of the SPC (Supreme People's Court) to postpone the execution within the scope of Chinese law."

The joint statement said the "Chinese side briefed the Vice President on the final verdict of the Supreme People's Court on the three (3) Filipinos sentenced to death for drug trafficking and the decision of the SPC to postpone the execution within the scope of Chinese law."

Binay met with the following Chinese officials and members of their staff: H.E. Mr. Dai Bingguo, State Councillor, H.E. Mr. Wang Shengjun, President of the Supreme People's Court and H.E. Mr. Zhang Zhijun, Executive Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The joint statement said, "The two sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues concerning bilateral relations, including judicial cooperation. The two sides expressed the determination to work together and make joint efforts in further strengthening the relationship of strategic cooperation."

The two countries also said they "are determined to work together in the fight against transnational crimes, including drug trafficking."

Of the condemned Filipinos, a 42-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were scheduled to be executed on Monday in the southeastern city of Xiamen. A 38-year-old woman was due to be put to death in Shenzhen on Tuesday.

China had originally rejected Philippine requests for a visit by Binay on behalf of the three drug mules, but in a surprise move late Thursday, it softened its stance.

Binay, who is due to leave Beijing Saturday, had said in a statement he respected the decisions of the Chinese courts but would argue during his trip that the three deserved a lighter penalty.

"We do not condone drug trafficking. However, we believe that these Filipinos were merely victims of international drug syndicates," he said.

Aquino, meanwhile, said Friday he had sent a letter of appeal to his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao and called on all Filipinos "to unite ourselves in prayer beginning today at sundown."

"All our prayers will storm the heavens to touch the heart of God, the God who will make a way when there seems to be no way," he said in a statement.

All three Filipinos were convicted of smuggling heroin at separate trials in 2008, but Philippine officials say they were duped into their crimes and should face long prison sentences instead of execution.

Ties between the two countries were tested last year by the deaths in Manila of eight tourists from Hong Kong, who were killed in a bungled rescue bid by Philippine police after they had been taken hostage aboard a bus.

My Lit1 exam today reminded me of how I used to love Greek Mythology. After the exam, I stayed at Zoey's and watched Helen of Troy while fixing my schedule on my planner. Felt hungry after watching so I ordered Blueberry Cheesecake and White Caramel Mocha which is a bad idea cause.. my tonsillitis got worst :(

New addiction: Copper wire

The ones in the pic are the first three things I made using copper wire. FYI: I did the bending with my hands only! Without the help of any pliers :)

Want to make more of thisss! Ran out of copper wire cause I only bought few rolls, enough to satisfy the crafty side of me (assuming that im crafty haha) Must buy more ASAP!

Last Wednesday my Dad told me about this marathon and he wants me to join (him, not sure), but I said how on earth am I gonna train for this If I only got a week left? Professional runners call their final week before marathon "rest week", not for me. So I was still kinda interested about it since my attempt to do my first marathon was a major major fail. Friday Night, Videoke Night

I finally got to see my girls last Friday. Yeah, I rarely get to see them since I'm enrolled in a different school (except for Minmin who is in Silliman).

Went to Auggie's hosting gig at her school with the barkada. Have to catch up cause I missed last week's videoke night hihi!

After the show, went to the Chowking for late dinner. It was the only place that was open and near the venue.

Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm kinda late hihi!

For now, I just wanna share to you the things I did while I was MIA. Warning: photo dump!

In the middle of the game, our teammate Kate got injured so we had to call the ambulance. When the ambulance arrived, someone said we should have a photo op with the ambulance and I didn't know he really want that photo so I had to run and get my camera. Click! They look like no one just got injured. Haha! Weirdos.

After the game, Doug invited us for a little friendly game they prepared called Zip Zap Zop.

And the winner of the game is.. Rem! And he got a prize from the Renegades, a very cute Koala!

I'm so glad I joined this tournament. I was kinda hesitant at first cause Spirits is a very big tournament. But I thought why not try, nothing will lose, so I prepared for it but not really cause was busy with school. I just played during my free time with my teammates here in Iligan and asked Neam to train me.

The other thing I liked during the tournament is the villa!! The Montevista Villas - Mimosa Golf & Country Club villas are the best. After every game, I'd be excited to go back to the room and just relax. They have hot and cold shower, good bed, good pillows, tv, and aircons that work. I'd love to go back there soon. With my girls maybe, that'll be fun! And one other thing, I met Julianne Tarroja! Yeeee! Too bad we don't have a picture together. While we were talking I was actually surrounded with people holding cameras, but I was just too busy talking to her about her gigs. Hehe!

And as you all know, I am still a novice with this sport. I'm still on my first year as a frisbee player compared to these girls.. Most of these girls have been playing for more than 2 years. Wait till you see them play! Girl power!!

And awarding came.. We won!! Weekend Karma, the Pool D Champs!! And and and, yours truly, the Pool D Female MVP :)) Wasn't expecting for it really.. (chos!)

Yes it's wish list time! And I've got 2 good reasons to make one. First, 50 days from now is Christmas day and second, two days after Christmas is my birthday. Make it three. Third reason, cause I've never made any wish list before.

1. Christmas 2010 with the whole family. Me and my sister's trip to Australia is cancelled. My mum's still not sure if she can come home :(

2. Perfect planner for 2011. The 12 Month Weekly Moleskine Planner would be good. I love it in Blue. or the 2011 Belle de Jour Power Planner with a Mardi-Gras theme.

3. The new Swatch Gent Collection. If only I could have them in all colors. /drool

4. To be a Dean's Lister. Yes!

5. Lots and lots of Bucket Bags.

6. Canon 60D. I don't wanna be a Nikon girl anymore. Fell in love with Canon S95 too.

7. A perfect backhand throw. Yes, i only know how to throw by forehand.

I decided to blog again when I lost my 2010 BDJ Planner. (Yes, the only thing that made my life easier) I don't know why looking for a temporary planner is what I did'nt do next. Maybe because I am very choosy with the planners I use or maybe because the year is about to end. Now I'm stuck with a regular Notepad that I got at National Bookstore. Sigh.

For year 2011, I'm gonna choose between a BDJ 2011 (BDJ Girls haven't posted yet a photo of the 2011 planner)

or the 12 Month Weekly Moleskine Planner.
